Ambassador Mohan Kumar has had an illustrious career in the Indian Foreign Service lasting 36 years. The strategic relations and trade partnership between India and France grew remarkably under his watch during his tenure as Indian Ambassador to France. He was also actively involved in the Climate Change Accord of Paris in 2015. He has enormous expertise in the area of international trade and multilateral negotiations – being India’s lead negotiator first at GATT and then at the WTO in crucial areas of Intellectual Property Rights, Services, Disputes Settlement ad Environment. He also served on multiple GATT and WTO panels relating to disputes settlement. He is now Professor and Dean at OP Jindal Global University and Chairman, Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS).
