B N Shetty is credited with streamlining the Passport, Visa and Overseas Citizenship of India and implementing many citizen centric e-Governance projects. If obtaining a Passport is just a simple visit to Passport Seva Kendra, it is due to the herculean efforts put in by Shetty. Immigration Visa Foreigner Registration Tracking (IVFRT) system that he developed has made it easy to track inbound foreign travellers. The Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS), National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP) are a few more contributions made by him, that have made it easy to integrate various databases in order to enhance national internal
