One of the major successes of the digital drive in the Government is the Passport Seva project. Golok Kumar Simli is the architect of Passport Seva Programme for smooth delivery of Passport services at the doorstep of the citizen in India. Be believes in creating innovative business models for public services and governance. Passport Seva is just one example of his conviction.

He has also architected and implemented Cyber Security and Data and Information Security framework for several other projects. He has worked across the spectrum – private sector, PSUs, Reserve Bank of India and more than 14 years with the Government. As Chief Technology Officer, Simli has been steering the use of Emerging Technologies in the Ministry of External Affairs.

Shri Golok Kumar Simli is an award winning Government Technology Leader whose contribution towards eGovernance and Digital Governance is remarkable and has been associated from the conceptualisation stage of National eGovernance Plan of India during 2005-06. His efforts towards digital transformation within public sectors is immense. He has architected and implemented the Passport Seva Programme for smooth delivery of Passport services at the doorstep of the citizen in India, one of India’s most successful eGovernace Programme. He is steering and contributing to the use of Emerging Technology and also guiding implementation of Cyber Security/Data and Information Security framework in the Government sectors. His keen areas of interest are Cloud, Big-Data, Analytics, AI and RPA. He has written many articles in use of ICT in government sectors for service delivery transformation and spoken at various national and international seminars on Digital Transformation.

Currently, Shri Golok is serving as the Chief Technology Officer, Passport Seva Programme, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. He carried a wide range of experience exceeding 28 years in ICT, starting with Private Sector, Public Sector Undertaking, Reserve Bank of India and more than 14 years with the Government.
