New Delhi, 18th June 2022

West Bengal establishes a digital data management system for schools. Banglar Shiksha 3.0 is about e-governance in the education system implemented by the Department of School Education. It made the department’s work easier as it rid the officials of manual data entry which was prone to errors. Maintaining and using multiple data sources for information related to schools made the department’s work tedious and complicated. Banglar Shiksha 3.0 is a unified digital symbiotic ecosystem set up as a new management system for all school-specific data about each education-related process. The platform has been set up at the state level and is used for data about students, teachers and schools. The

virtual workspace can be used by every stakeholder. It covers 1.5 crore students that allow live tracking and data sharing. The information dashboard is a robust function that allows enhanced monitoring of education-related data.

Banglar Uchchashiksha is a digital data management system under the Department of Higher Education. The department struggled with poor maintenance of academic and administrative data related to higher education. Access was tedious for both students as well as government officials. A portal has been developed dedicated to collecting and maintaining data related to higher education institutions in the state. The data is updated frequently so that each student can be individually monitored. The student admission module incorporates category-wise data related to admissions. Students can also use the portal to obtain information about their preferred subjects and state-aided institutions. The system allows the administration to track and evaluate a variety of grants. Over 12.5 lakh students have made use of the portal in a single year.
